Duck Commander CEO Willie Robertson, made famous by the TV show Duck Dynasty, decided to make a big change after being in quarantine for Covid-19 – he cut off his notorious long locks. With hair so short, Robertson, 48, looks like he joined the military, and his wife is so pleased with the change, she has been constantly posting photos of Robertson’s new ‘do and his family members’ reactions to this, his first hair cut in about 17 years. Korie’s photos can be found on Instagram on her account, Boss Hogg’s Wife. She included a lengthy message about how happy she is that her husband is taking care of himself and how shocking the change is. The Duck Commander official YouTube channel also posted a video of Robertson in the barber’s chair, joking about feeling like he was losing his power as his hair was cut and then amazed at the amount of hair left behind on the floor after his cut. To go with the new style, Robertson also had his signature long beard trimmed up and put away his usual look of a T-shirt for a blue button-up shirt. The star looks like a new man.
The video of Robertson’s transformation shows the star sneaking up on his wife, Korie, in a restaurant as she refills her drink. Robertson walks past his wife of 28 years several times without her recognizing him. He finally approaches her in the parking lot, telling her she forgot something, at which point Korie is amazed at her husband’s change. Laughingly, she tells him she thought she recognized him, but as someone from church. The video continues with Robertson approaching other family members, without saying anything until his family recognizes him. Robertson was thrust into the public eye when his family hit the airwaves in Duck Dynasty, a show which followed the family’s crazy antics at home and at their business, Duck Commander. The Robertson family became infamous for the style chosen by the family’s men – all sported long hair and beards to match. Although their TV preview came with the show Duck Commander, which featured duck hunting trips featuring the Robertson family’s products. The family soon added the Buck Commander brand to their empire, including a companion TV show. It was Duck Dynasty, though, which followed the Robertson family, led by Duck Commander founder and family patriarch Phil Robertson. The family’s down-home appearance and conservative attitudes made them a quick, if not controversial, fan-favorite.
Duck Commander and Buck Commander are both located in Monroe, Louisiana, but the company is famous for selling duck calls and decoys, deer calls, camouflage clothing and equipment for hunting, and other paraphernalia such as hats, shirts, and more. The family also offers a wide collection of DVDs and books ranging from recipes to Robertson’s book about being an entrepreneur. In addition to the family businesses, Robertson is known as a conservative political activist and outspoken Christian. He opened a restaurant, Willie’s Duck Diner, which soon closed, reopened in 2017, and has since closed again.
