30-year old Kina Tavary recognized to 182,000 of her Instagram followers by the name Kian Tavarozi, has been taken into custody in New York City. Tavares is alleged to have gone after her boyfriend, thirty-year-old Freddy Figueroa. Figueroa and Tavary together have a son, an 8-month-old named Koa. Some of the charges facing Tavary are aggravated harassment, harassment and a misdemeanour.
The police had taken her into custody within half an hour of the time the incident was reported. In the period of her indictment, the judge failed to impose any bail that would release her on her own bond. Figueroa and Tavary were forbidden from having any contact between each other by the court. However, neither an order of protection nor a restraining order has been requested by either Figueroa or Tavary.
Tavary has retained Earl Ward, a well respected civil rights attorney, according to whom his client’s purported actions are not of the severity of being of the level of a misdemeanour under the law. He claims that a third-degree or a misdemeanour under the state laws of New York City arises when one party intentionally or recklessly induces injury to another party.
Tavary can still find herself being tried on aggravated harassment charges and harassment charges even if the charges are dismissed, with the possibility of receiving a one-year jail sentence if convicted. However, due to this being her first offence, she is most likely to receive three-year probation if she were to be convicted. The motive that led to the alleged incident has not been elaborated by Ward, meaning that as of the time of writing the provocation for the altercation is still unknown with Ward predicting the case to be quickly dismissed. Tavary is expected to appear next in court on 25th July 2019. The alleged event took place at the corner of East 29th Street and Madison Avenue in New York City at 2 a.m. on 14th June 2019. Figueroa, Koa and Tavary resided in Las Vegas and were in New York on vacation. Tavary is claimed to have taken numerous swipes at Figueroa, with the exact number of blows landed unknown. An unnamed source alleged that Tavary did not stop hitting Figueroa until the arrival of the police. A report on Figueroa’s injuries has him swollen and bruised after the alleged occurrence. Another source described the incident simply as a “scuffle”.
Describing herself as a “blond bombshell with a brain”, Tavary describes herself further as a Las Vegas socialite and a make-up artist. Being a Montana native, she used to contest in equestrian events. She also once represented the Hakkasan nightclub and the Light nightclub as a model, along with doing some promotional work for America magazine publisher Hugh Hefner. She also made a cover-appearance in the “Show Horse Today” magazine fashion issue in April 2019. Figueroa, known as Freddy Figs in the DJ-scene, is a professional DJ.
He composed an Instagram post on the Mother’s day of 2019 that showed his appreciation towards Tavery’s mothering skills and the sacrifices she makes raising Koa, declaring her as the “best mother” their son could have. He concluded by conveying the joy he felt spending Mother’s Day with Koa and Tavary.
