Disney is currently planning on replacing the “Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas” exhibit, and this news has garnered a bit of anger and backlash as a result. Walt Disney World has actually just reopened, but there are definitely serious differences noted due to the Pandemic. The popular Christmas party that the park had hosted previously will be different this year, per Disney’s announcement. Instead, they are doing something with a more limited capacity that they are calling “Disney Very Merriest After Hours.” This event will occur at night and will replace the previous event. The plan is for the new event to begin on November 8 and span until December 21. In order to attend the event, you’re going to have to buy extra tickets just for it. This is because your regular admission ticket won’t be enough to go. Some activities from the event will include unique fireworks just for this event, called “Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks.” Each event will happen at night and it will go for four hours.
The tickets that you buy for the event will give you access to 20 special attractions during that four hours. Some people are saying it’s a great family event specific to the holidays, and that it’s great for making memories. This new event will happen specifically in the Magic Kingdon. Disney’s announcement indicates that there will be Characters around for the event, as well as the themed fireworks and even special treats to eat as well. The event is happening partly due to the 50th anniversary of Disney. It further will have extras like specially themed music, decorations, and even more than that as well. Some people report that the Fireworks show which is hosted by Minnie Mouse is a unique and dazzling event that young children often remember for a long time. The treats are included in the admission price. They include popcorn, ice cream, bottled soda, and more. You also get to enjoy the park for 4 hours after it usually closes, making for a special experience since you will have to wait in line for rides much less than what would happen normally. The rumor is you also get to see overlays for attractions with a holiday-themed, projections from Cinderella castle and even more besides.
This event goes from 9 PM until 1 AM during the November through December months starting on the 8th. You can get tickets soon, so it’s worth waiting for them and getting them early if you know you’re going to want to go to this event for sure. Other perks of these tickets include that you can get access to the Magic Kingdom as early as 7 PM, letting you enjoy the park before the main event starts. Another plus here is that you can get into the park this way without needing a reservation or another day theme park ticket. Some you get even more than access to the special event for the same price. After-hour access to Magic Kingdom is another plus as well. Not everyone is going to like the new event, but it appears that plenty of people have some excitement about it. There will certainly be an argument on the subject, but no one will know for sure how this will pan out until the opening date in November.
